Brief history. The faculty was established according to the Decree of the President № UP-1460 dated from May 2, 1996 “On establishing the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan” and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 17, 1996 № 180 “On issues of organizing activity of the Banking and Finance Academy Republic of Uzbekistan”.

The main goals and objectives of the department. The main goal of the faculty is to organize retraining and professional development of managers and professionals for the banking and financial and tax systems of Uzbekistan, as well as for an industrial sector.

In accordance with the aim thefaculty is supposed to organize a qualitative educational process, academic, methodological and scientific-research activities of the teaching staff, researchers and master students.

Key areas of training and qualification upgrading. The faculty performs training and qualification upgrading of specialists and managers of banking, financial and tax offices through contracts with legal entities and individuals in the following areas:

– Banking;

– Finance;

– Taxation;

– Insurance.

Scientific-research capabilities of the faculty. The faculty actively cooperates with master course faculties and departments. The faculty delivers courses in cooperation with the teaching staff of the Academy, as well as attracting leading specialists of the Central Bank, commercial banks, the Ministry of Finance, the State Tax Committee, and other ministries and departments.

International relations of the faculty.  The faculty has the task of organizing a targeted and efficient activity in the field of training, research and cultural exchange on relevant specialties of the banking, financial and tax systems of the republic and to establish mutually beneficial relationships with interested agencies.In this regard, the faculty maintains close academic and cultural links with universities and research centers in the world, as the Policy Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance of Japan, Luxembourg Financial Technology Transfer Agency, the German University of Applied Sciences of Bremerhaven, Graduate School of Banking of the Republic of Latvia, the Warsaw Institute of Banking, the Federal Reserve, Keio University in Japan, Higher School of Economy and Management, the Czech Republic and many others.

National partners of the faculty.We have a fruitful cooperation with ministries, agencies and companies as the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance, the State Tax Committee, the Uzbekistan Banking Association, commercial banks, insurance companies, Association of Lombard and others.

The achievements of the faculty. The results of the educational and research activities of the faculty members are reflected in developed 2 textbooks, 3educational-methodological complexes and 2innovative educational workbooks in bankingarea. Moreover, teachers of the faculty are the authors of 3 books, more than 90 scientific articles and other publications on the current issues of the banking and financial activities.
