By order of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I.A. Karimov on March 2, 1999 PP-2243, May 9, was proclaimed the Day of memory and honor. The text of the order also noted “… in order to respect the honor and dignity of all those who today, in our ranks, contribute to the education of young people and uphold the honor of the Motherland.”

Indeed, to promote the development of the Motherland, educating the younger generation, striving to achieve the ideal of a person with perfect personal qualities requires self-sacrifice. These honorable and respected people have been working for years at the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and are making their worthy contribution to the development of our country. The younger generation will never forget their dedicated work. In honor of the holiday of May 9 – the Day of memory and honor, on May 7, the Academy organized a meeting with honorary teachers. The meeting was attended by the first rector of the Academy, Doctor of  Economic Sciences, Professor Ochilov Mirsobit Fozylovich, Doctor of Economics, Professor Akramov Ergash Akramovich and Doctor of  Economic Sciences, Professor Ulmasov Akhmed Ulmasovich. The event was opened by the Rector of the Academy, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor B. Berdiyarov.

The honored guests shared their memories with the participants of the meeting. The first rector of the Academy, M. Ochilov, told about the history of the opening of the Academy: “For the first time, the Association of Banks of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1996 spoke about the creation of the Banking and Finance Academy. Since June 1996, the Academy was opened, and began its activities since November of the same year … At that time Sh. M. Mirziyoev was the khakim of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, he actively promoted the working process. The Academy has existed for 23 years, during which some ministers, managers, senators and managers in the banking and financial spheres studied at the Academy, and I am proud of them. ”

M. Ochilov gave valuable advice and suggestions to the team and students of the Academy. In particular, to develop cooperation with foreign countries and provide students with overseas internships so that positively affect their future work. At the same time, special attention was paid to the study of foreign languages.

An impressive presentation by Doctor of Economics, Professor A.U. Ulmasov, the author of a number of scientific papers and textbooks on economics, who contributed to the development of the Academy’s economic activities for many years, made a great impression on the audience. He also called for the maintaining the prestige of the Academy and its further development.

The next guest of honor, Doctor of Economics, Professor E.A. In his opening remarks, Mr. Akramov, said that he was very pleased to meet with the teachers and students of the Academy, and expressed confidence that the undergraduates of the Academy would contribute to the development of our country’s economy.

Further, the Doctor of Economics, Professor Mutalib Ibragimovich Yuldashev, who continued to share his knowledge and experience with students of the academy, quoted Abu Rayhan Beruni and then he read his poem “On Labor”, stating that labor is the basis of economic growth.

During the event, the guests expressed their confidence in the future students of the BFA and mentioned the relevance of the economy and financial sector in modern conditions.

They also talked about the need for rational use of the wide opportunities and conditions created by our state, since the knowledge and skills acquired in youth is a solid basis for future activities.

At the end of the event, the audience warmly thanked the guests for the informative conversation and valuable advice. We sincerely congratulated them on the upcoming May 9th – Day of Memory and Honor, and also the guests of honor were presented with memorable gifts.
